Instead of a regular meeting in Dec, we enjoy the comradery of our garden clubs friends in a seasonal celebration. Same location but it starts earlier. Because we begin the evening with a catered feast, tickets must be purchased to attend. The buffet will be supplied by Austin Gourmet Caterers. It is a fast paced evening, starting at 6pm, ending at 9pm: socializing, door prize, trivia quiz, photo & container contest awards and our Fantastic Christmas Draw. Dress is nice casual but spiffy is >definitely not frowned upon.
The evening starts with a buffet dinner (why we must sell tickets). After that it is pretty fast paced with door prizes, trivia quiz, contest awards and, of course, the fantastic Christmas draw. The evening starts at 6pm, the feast at 6:30. It ends about 9pm.
Tickets go on sale in October:
A steal of a
deal: $20 for members, $25 for a guest.
There are only 120 tickets available
as that is the maximum seating.
Tonight, ticket sales will end about
15 minutes after the business part of
the meeting. After tonight, they are
available through Ellen. If some are
still available, they will be sold at the
November meeting. Until December
1st you can get your ticket refunded if
you are forced to change your plans.
All seating is reserved so tell Ellen your
seating preferences
For 3 weeks before the Christmas party, members (and friends) are invited to Audrey’s basement to make the prizes for the Christmas Party draw. The basement will be available from 9am to 9pm on the set days but you must tell Audrey that you will be there. Telling her is easy. There will be a a huge calendar (on the window by the podium this evening) on which you are invited to write your name and the hours you would like to craft. Full name and phone number please. Usually people craft for a 2-3 hour stint. The calendar will also be available at our November meeting. Fresh materials will be worked on only during daylight hours of the final weekend. Even if you consider yourself “craft challenged” you are invited to come to socialize. The maximum number of crafters for one session is 4-5 (less for the fresh materials). At non-meeting times contact Audrey by phone or email.
The crafting materials:
An
unbelievable amount of stuff is
available to play with—ask anyone
who has previously crafted in the
basement. Often, people spend their
first crafting session just checking out
the materials. If you have crafting
materials or Christmas decorations
you no longer want, we can use them.
Please drop them off at Audrey’s
sheltered kitchen door. We cannot
use fragrant or glittery materials. We
definitely are not offended it you
would like to return a prize you won
at a previous Christmas party
