The light in this image is wonderful… it positively glows in all the right ways. As well, the light in the shadowy areas is still enough to let us see and appreciate the colours and details, plus the diagonal line formed by the three main subjects adds dynamic interest.
A very well composed and lovely image.

This ice-encrusted rose is beautiful. The ice adds visual interest, of course, but also seems to let us appreciate the colour of the petals more completely. The composition has a good balance, with light and dark changing across the frame in the background, and even that tiny crystal of ice to the lower right adds a visual aspect that helps balance the feel of the image.
Very nicely photographed!

This view of a garden has a great number of pleasing elements: The main subject, the white flower, is nicely surrounded by the splashes of red, and they all take the viewer further into the hedge and foliage beyond. The result feels nicely layered and balanced.
A well conceived image.

This image catches one’s attention because of the circle formed by the blossoms. The colours and details are excellent, and they stand out nicely against the background, which itself has a good gradient from light to dark. Very nice work!

This is definitely a “wow” image! Strikingly intricate and fascinating details on our main subject, and wonderful colours throughout. The focus is exactly where it should be, the lines formed by the insect and the flower add interest, and the exposure is excellent. Wow!

A fine macro image. The flower stalk makes a good diagonal line across the frame, and the bee is nicely placed 1/3 up from the bottom. The focus is on the bee, as it should be, and the flower petals are nicely softened to keep the viewer’s attention on the subject.
A very effective macro image!

The spiral shape immediately keeps the viewer’s gaze moving in the right direction, and the splendidly sharp details add interest throughout. The light here is fabulous, adding a wonderful glow to the subject and that pleasing background.
A fine image!

The unusual pattern made by this unfolding flower grabs the viewer’s attention right away. The back light through the upper petals is lovely, and the rim light at the bottom of the frame brings out those fine details very well. I think this could have been even stronger with some light on the flower’s centre so that we could appreciate the details there as well. Using something as simple as a sheet of paper to reflect some light where it’s needed can make a big difference in shots like this.
Nonetheless, a pleasing image with lots of interest.

This bird portrait immediately grabs the viewer’s attention. The colours are bold and rich, the details are sharp and well defined, and the background is subdued, allowing the subject to stand out dramatically. The gentle angle of the perch and the visual lines of the subject add a nice, dynamic feel to the composition.
Excellent image!

This is completely sweet…. Our fine, furry friend following the sage advice to stop and smell the flowers…. I do believe there’s even an expression of contentment! Beyond the sweetness, I like the diagonal division of the frame, the placement of the strikingly red flower, and the angle of the shot.
Well done!

Capturing good images of hummingbirds is notoriously difficult without a great deal of equipment (and a lot of patience). The composition of this shot is excellent, with the hummer and the flower balancing the frame, and the background adding good colour and interest without competing for attention.
The image would have been even more enticing if the hummingbird was in better light to show off the colours and details, but it is a very pleasing image as it is.
I’d say your patience was well rewarded!

This feline flora/fauna relationship image was just too cute to miss… the look of pure, contented bliss while cuddling a wayward branch is completely endearing, if a little puzzling.
A well captured moment that immediately brings a smile!

This photo has wonderfully rich colours throughout the frame that serve to surround the solitary white blossom and clearly focus the viewer’s attention where it belongs.
The exposure on the white petals is very well done, preserving the textures while still capturing the brightness and interesting shadows. Compositionally, having the white flower off center to the left, and countering it with the cluster of blurred reds on the right make this feel well balanced.
This is an excellent image!

This image feels very refined and elegant. The composition is well thought-out with the stamen at the lower third of the frame, and the 3 main petals take the eye upwards from there.
Exposure is excellent, as is clarity.
A very pleasing image!

This is a very creative use of light, and the result is very eye-catching. Having the sun “rising” over the horizon of the blossom makes the sense of scale unusual and quite fascinating.
An imaginative composition!
